Mike Hess
Founder & CEO
Mike Hess Owns and Operates GCSHS alongside his wife Amy Hess. Their goal is to continue to develop excellence in the home improvement space throughout the Brandenton and Sarasota areas.

Mike is a graduate of Michigan State University and attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School where he met his wife, Amy. He has worked the majority of his 20+year professional career in various leadership roles for multiple large Banking, Finance and Real Estate corporations in Detroit, Washington D.C., Chicago, and the Tampa Bay Area. Mike has a passion for mentoring and coaching young adults and those just starting their professional careers, taking great pride watching them grow and succeed.
Mike is a natural risk taker and was born to own his own business. He believes that you can be successful in anything you do in life if you’re willing to do 2 things: work harder than those around you, and thoroughly impress the customers that give you the opportunity to work with them.
Mike is a dedicated husband to his wife, Amy, and father to his son, Landon, who is already a championship rower for Sarasota Crew, and the most intelligent person that he knows. Second to his family, Mike is a proud Spartan and loves watching Michigan State University football and basketball. One of Mike’s greatest joys in life is waking up to make breakfast for his son to have just a few minutes of one on one time with him each morning.

Amy Hess
Tech Lead
Amy’s love of home improvement and design started as a young girl working along side her Dad as he tackled personal DIY projects, both small and large. Through those projects, and numerous personal home remodels, she learned not to be afraid of trying something new, that she can accomplish just about anything she sets out to do, and that she loves the personal joy that she feels in helping to create a beautiful space.
Amy is a graduate of Michigan State University (Go Green!) and Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and has worked the majority of her career in risk management, focusing on legal and regulatory compliance. Her passion for home decorating, remodeling, and landscape gardening helps her honor her creative side, and she is constantly inspired by a new project and the vibrant colors and lush greenery that thrive in the Florida sunshine.
Amy’s family is her greatest joy, and she and her husband, Mike, are the proud parents to one son, Landon, who is growing up way too fast, but becoming an independent, determined, and exceptional young man. In addition to her professional and family life, Amy deeply adores moments spent with good friends, extended family, and playing with her two dogs. She enjoys cooking, tending to her jungle of plants, watching college sports, and a relaxing day at the pool/beach.
